This Rhythmisitc painting was created live as a demo presentation at the prestigious Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago in 2021. It is not a forgery credited to a dead art star or A.I. It is real Rhythmism!

"NOG NU!!!

The unique Future-Primitif "NOG the Nubian of Greatness": Protector of the Pyramides of Planet NUBA opened the door to Afrofuturism & the growing Black Age of Comics when it was brazenly published in 1981 by ONLI STUDIOS. Rebooted with a bold Rhythmistic cover treatment by the awe inspiring Christian St. Pierre.

Winning the Peace the Future-Primitif way. Per the 2021 solo exhibition showing Onli's emergence from the grandson heir of the Great Migration to become a fully vetted Artist-Educator-Art Therapist. Please click on image for Prof. Onli's Wiki link.

"Jimi Future-Primitif"

Onli produced an entire visual art production as a tribute to the innovative Future-Primitif creative works of the late great composer/musician/ vocalist, Jimi Hendrix. Ironically this body of amazing Rhythmistic work was destroyed in a live-work-place fire in 2001.

In the late 1970s Onli successfully stalked the Rolling Stones and convinced them to let him work in the EMI Recording Studios as they were completing album recordings. The result was an album cover too hot for them as their lawyers declared it would not pass the censorship standards of that era.

The Belizian Reggae band Sterio asked Onli to do this Future-Primitif illustration for its cassette release in the mid 1980s. Onli was a Voting Member of the Grammies in the 1980s through the 1990s for his impressive professional album-cover / music-packaging gigs.

During peak COVID in 2020 Onli was asked to illustrate this Sun Ra treatment for a trading card published by the ROCTOBER 'ZINE. Ra is often credited with being a founding source of Afrofuturism.

Afrofuturism was coined by Michael Dery in 1993. Onli termed Future-Primitif visual art and creative approaches Rhythmistic in the 1970s.

"Freedom Rhythm & Sound"

This book honored Onli's early Future-Primitif experiments by astutely opening with the album cover below, "Together Alone". Plus. it also appears on the rear outer cover of this important album sized hard-cover book.

Onli's first Rhythmistic album cover design-illustration for the Delmark Label known for pioneering avant-garde jazz composers and musicians. Released in 1974. Serving notice that the opulent era of the visual art Future-Primitif had opened.
